In accordance with Massachusetts Department of Education Regulation 603 CMR 23.06, temporary records may be destroyed after seven years. The Swansea Public Schools, Special Education Department, will be complying with these regulations.NOTICE TO FORMER SPECIAL EDUCATION STUDENTS IN SWANSEA The special education files may contain information of importance for particular individuals in the future. Therefore, individuals may wish to examine and receive any or all of the records prior to their destruction. The persons affected are those who received special education services in Swansea and terminated services during the 2003-2004 school years via graduation, relocation, team recommendation, etc. If you wish to receive the materials, please come in to the Special Education Office One Gardners Neck Road Swansea, MA Any time from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm Monday – Friday. A picture I.D. matching the guardian of record or student, if age 18 or older, will be required. Unclaimed records will be destroyed on or around November 30, 2011.
